Colorado CruzinDate- August 19 thru 22, 2011Start Time- To be announced Meeting Place- To be announced Ride Classification- Moderate ![]() Ride Leader- Rod Yeager Proposed Route-This year we will spend four days riding the NW part of the state, enjoying the ride and camaraderie. Get out your map if you want to follow each days ride.Friday August 19th. We will leave the metro area in the morning. Time and location to be announced. Head West on I-70 to the U.S.40 exit and take it over Berthoud Pass and continue on U.S.40 to just north of Kremmling. We will turn West on Colo. 134 over Gore Pass to Colo. 131, turn North and proceed to Oak Creek. From there we will go North on county roads 27 & 29 (paved) to U.S.40. We will turn West and continue to Craig for the first nights stay. 206 miles, 4hours and 18 minutes riding time. Saturday August 20th. We will ride South out of Craig on Colo.13 to Meeker where we will turn West on Colo.64. Following Colo.64 to Rangely, then turn South on Colo.139 over Douglas Pass. Continuing on Colo. 139 to Fruita. This should allow us time to take a ride thru Colorado National Monument. Night 2 will be spent in the Grand Junction area. Riding time 4 hours, 193 miles not counting the Monument. Sunday August 21st. Leave Grand Junction heading East on I-70 to Colo.65, we will follow Colo. 65 over Grand Mesa to Colo.92. Turn east on Colo.92 and follow it and Colo.133 East and North thru some great scenery and end up in Glenwood Springs for night 3. Traveling 186 miles and 4 hours riding time. Monday August 22nd. Heading South out of Glenwood on Colo.82 thru Aspen and over Independence Pass to U.S.24. Turn North to Leadville and North on Colo.91 following it to I-70 and home. Riding 195 miles and 4 hours 22 minutes. If you think you are going, be sure to make your room reservations. You can always cancel if you need to, but these towns fill-up fast in the summer.
