01-07-2006 Nice weather to ride to Longmont
Mark Castleman - January 7th 2006
Five of us left from the Broomfield Park & Ride on the morning of the 7th of January. It promised to be another freakishly warm January day and indeed that is what happened. We headed up US 287 to the Longmont Museum & Cultural Center where there was an exhibit entitled "Rubber side down: Motorcycles in American Culture." It is a small exhibit featuring classic motorcycles on loan from people in the Longmont area. There are several old British bikes, several choppers, a WWII vintage Harley, a State Patrol Harley, an Indian Chief and a Kawasaki 600 race bike. After the museum we went to Swanky Frank's for coney dogs and then headed wet toward Hygiene. From there we headed south through rural Boulder County and ultimately ending up at Glacier for some much needed ice cream. From there we went our separate ways.
