WEDNESDAY RIDE
Rod & Carol Yeager - April 1st 2010
Charles C., Ron P., Bud & Dottie S., Gary C., Nancy(Pres), Dirk N., Ron, and myself all met at Gran Prix Motorsports on Wed. Mar. 31st,. All the bikes were clean and shiney even the Prez's. The first thing on the agenda was a discussion of the weather, windy and cold in the North and Mountains. So we decided on old reliable 105 to Monument, i noticed there was a lot more snow by the side of the road and it was a lot cooler than 2 weeks ago. We turned East at Monument to Co. 83 then So. to C Springs and Famous Daves for lunch. We enjoyed a great meal and stories(Ride to Eat). After lunch we headed East on Research Pkwy a nice 4-lane road with few stoplight toward Blackforest Rd. After you cross Powers Ave. you are in a new area of wide streets and round-abouts, which make for some nice left and right turns, breaking up the monotny of straight riding. But alas the road was a dead end. I have done a Nancy. I led the group back thru the switchbacks to Powers. We continued East on Woodman and U.S.24 to the Elbert turn off, then went North. We actually had a little sun along this section. The fields are starting to green and the newly born calves were staying close to their mothers. We stopped at The South 40 to say hi have some cocoa and cokes, swamp some war stories and warm to ride home. The onto Kiowa and West to home. A really fun Day.
